One of the important factor that defines picture quality is the megapixels of the camera. Higher MegaPixels means better picture quality. So If you have a 1 Megapixel Camera and I have a 2 Megapixel Camera, My camera would have a better picture quality than your camera. The difference in quality based on megapixel is noticed when you enlarge the image or view it in full screen of your computer.
- Some other features are the ability of autofocus, face detection and compensation for light and red eye. Face Detection makes the pictures to be taken in focus and much clearer.
- Digital Cameras come with different modes to take picture in different daytime scenarios. This helps you to take picture in optimum conditions.
- Sometimes Digital Cameras have only an LCD Display. However the preferred one would be one that comes alongwith viewfinder. This would help you take better pictures.
- Also you need to check the delay of snapshot of the camera. Faster reaction of camera is best while some cameras take a considerable time to take a snapshot.
- A Camera with Optical Zoom is better than Digital Zoom. The image quality is deteriorated if someone uses Digital Zoom.
- Image stabilization is quite important so that even if your hand shakes or someone moves the image is perfect and clear.
